You only need to fight a few of them to reach the final boss, and there are always different paths you can take.
This flexibility is one of the game’s best features, letting you choose your own adventure. One of these hidden bosses is located beneath the church district in the Shadow Keep, and you’ll need to follow a few steps to find it.

Where to Find Scadutree Avatar Optional Boss in Shadow Of The Erdtree?
Church District – Shadow Keep
First, you need to clear the flooding in the church district of Shadow Keep.
Start by climbing the rooftops of a few ruined buildings while avoiding the exploding fire men and fire knights.
Make your way to the top of the main building in the area. Once there, find a hole in the roof and carefully drop onto an arch inside.
Drop down again to encounter some fire knights patrolling the narrow halls.
Head left outside and cross a rickety bridge where you’ll encounter bats. Keep going until you find a ladder with a crank that will drain the water from the area.
Flooded Area
With the water gone, go down and activate the nearby grace. Continue forward until you reach a large tree, but be careful – getting too close will summon an Ulcerated Tree Spirit, and there are two in this area.
Instead, go up the stairs and enter the first floor of the building you previously passed through, where the fire knights were patrolling.
This area has an unlimited number of exploding fire men and a single fire knight at the back left.
Behind the statue in the room directly opposite your entrance, you can find a Fire Knight’s Seal.
However, you should head up and to the right. Go through a few doors until you reach two sets of staircases and a door below.
Into the Depths
Go through the closed door below and take the elevator down. You’ll find a cave with a rickety bridge.
Cross it to reach a small prayer room with an Iris of Occultation beneath the statue. Head down the stairs behind it and activate the grace.
Outside, you’ll see muck left behind by the Erdtree. This is where you’ll face the Scadutree Avatar, a multiphase boss that hits hard but also takes a lot of damage.
