September 1st isn’t just another day on the calendar for fans of the Wizarding World, it’s Back To Hogwarts Day!

This annual event marks the day when students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry board the iconic Hogwarts Express to start a new school year.

For fans, it’s a day full of celebration, community, and exciting announcements about the future of the Wizarding World franchise.

Last year’s event brought us the summer update for Hogwarts Legacy, and this year, fans were eagerly anticipating the official reveal of the game’s much-rumored director’s cut.

Unfortunately, despite the leaks, there was no news on that front. But Wizarding World fans weren’t disappointed, a magical surprise was still in store.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection: Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

A thrilling announcement revealed that the LEGO Harry Potter Collection is being re-released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S!

This marks the first time the collection will be natively available on the latest generation of consoles, with the release date set for October 8th.

Previously, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection was only playable on these consoles through backward compatibility with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

This new release will include all eight ‘years’ of Harry Potter adventures, split across LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-8. Additionally, two previously released DLCs will be included in the collection.

Enhanced Features for Next-Gen Consoles

But this isn’t just a simple port to new consoles. Developer Double Eleven has added several exciting enhancements to the game, ensuring it looks and plays better than ever.

Players can look forward to 60fps gameplay, native 4K resolution, and high-resolution shadow maps, making the magical world of Harry Potter more immersive than ever.

For PS5 users, the haptic feedback on the DualSense controller has also been upgraded, adding a new level of realism to the gameplay.

Pricing and Upgrade Options

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection will be available for $39.99 when it launches.

If you already have the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version, you can upgrade to the new version at a discounted price. While the exact upgrade cost hasn’t been confirmed yet, these upgrades usually cost around $10.

Here’s a money-saving tip: The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are currently on sale for just £5.24 on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store until September 11th.

Buying the current edition now and then paying the upgrade fee later could be a smart way to get the new version for less money overall.

Don’t Miss the Launch of Harry Potter Quidditch Champions

As if that wasn’t enough, Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is launching tomorrow, September 3rd! Make sure to check it out and join in on the magical fun.
