To unlock the Warfarer vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to complete the Sotted Sage quest. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Start at Bakbattahl, follow the story, or sneak past the gate to Rest Town.
  • Buy and equip a Beastren Mask.
  • Travel to Higg’s Tavern in Bakbattahl and buy three Newt Liqueurs.
  • Head to Volcanic Island Camp and gift the liqueurs to Lamond.
  • Unlock the Warfarer Vocation and receive a powerful skill.

Step-by-step guide to Unlock Warfarer in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Start at Bakbattahl:

  • Begin your journey in Bakbattahl. You can either follow the main story and get a permit from Captain Brant or try to sneak past the gate in Checkpoint Rest Town.
  • To get to Rest Town, you can travel by ox cart or on foot.
  • Buy a Beastren Mask from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop for 8,700 gold. Equip the mask as it will be important later.

Entering the Desert Area:

  • Wear the Beastren Mask so the guards let you into the new desert area.
  • Alternatively, you can sneak past the gate by hiding in an ox cart, but this is risky as the guards might attack if they spot you.

Travel to Bakbattahl:

  • Follow the main road south and then east to reach Bakbattahl city.

Get 3 Bottles of Newt Liqueurs:

  • Once in Bakbattahl, head to Higg’s Tavern in the north of the city.
  • Make sure you have the Beastren Mask equipped before entering.
  • Look for two bags outside the tavern and throw them into the small pen next to them.
  • Speak with the tavern owner and buy three bottles of Newt Liqueur for 5,000 gold each.

Head to Volcanic Island Camp:

  • Travel southeast from Bakbattahl to reach the Volcanic Island Camp.
  • You can take the north path if you’ve progressed far enough in the story, or the south path through the cave system, which is open regardless of your level.

Gift the Newt Liqueur to Lamond:

  • In Volcanic Island Camp, find the path leading up the hill to the hot springs.
  • Look for Lamond near the tent and give him the three bottles of Newt Liqueur.
  • After gifting him the liqueur, you’ll unlock the Warfarer Vocation.
  • Speak with Lamond again to receive the Grandmaster Path scroll, which contains a powerful Rearmament skill.

By following these steps, you can unlock the Warfarer vocation and gain access to its versatile combat abilities in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

What is the Warfarer Vocation?

The Warfarer is a hybrid class that offers a lot of flexibility. You can use different weapons and skills based on what you have equipped, allowing you to tailor your playstyle.

You can even carry multiple weapons for a diverse combat experience. This class is ideal for those who want to excel in all aspects of combat, including melee, ranged attacks, defense, and crowd control.

However, note that only the main character (Arisen) can use this vocation; your pawns cannot. You need to unlock six different vocations before you can use the Warfarer.
