Like other gacha games, Wuthering Waves is exciting because of its characters. But, you can only get most of these characters through the game’s gacha system.

Without the gacha system, you’ll be stuck with the free characters the game gives you. To help you get more characters, we’ll show you how to unlock the gacha system in Wuthering Waves so you can wish for your favorites.

How to Unlock the Gacha System in Wuthering Waves?

Unlocking the gacha system in Wuthering Waves happens after you play the game for a bit, usually around the one-hour mark.

Here’s how you unlock the gacha system in Wuthering Waves:

  1. Open Wuthering Waves.
  2. Play the Main Story.
  3. Complete the quest “First Resonance.”
  4. Unlock “Convene.”

As you play through the main story, you’ll eventually reach the Main Quest called “First Resonance,” where you talk to Baizhi.

After talking with Baizhi and completing your physical exam, you’ll get a notification that you have unlocked the “Convene” function.

Convene” is what the gacha system is called in Wuthering Waves. Once it’s unlocked, press F3 on your keyboard or click on the star-like icon in the top right corner.

This will take you to the gacha screen, where you can wish for your favorite characters. If the gacha system seems confusing, check out our guide on it for a better understanding.

That’s how you unlock the gacha in Wuthering Waves.

How To Wish In Wuthering Waves?

When you begin playing Wuthering Waves, you can’t summon right away. At the start, you’ll find yourself as a character called a Rover, and you won’t remember much. You’ll team up with Yangyang and Chixia to fight an important boss early in the story.

After that, you’ll arrive at the main city. There, you’ll meet a character named Sanhua who will help you unlock useful tools like the Levitator and the Sensor.

Later on, you’ll visit a research laboratory where you’ll meet Mortefi and then Baizhi. When you finish talking with Baizhi, the Convene system will unlock automatically.

Novice Convene Banner Guide

Once you unlock the Convene or Summon system in Wuthering Waves, you’ll see this banner pop up. To summon on it, you’ll need to use Lustrous Tides. The good news is, there’s a discount of 20 percent for every ten pulls, so you can do ten pulls for the price of eight tides.

In these 50 pulls, you’re guaranteed to get one of these standard five-star resonators:

  • Encore
  • Jianxin
  • Lingyang
  • Calcharo
  • Verina

Once you get a five-star, the banner disappears, and its pity doesn’t count for any other banner. If you don’t get a five-star in the first 49 pulls, you’re sure to get one on the 50th pull.

Every pull has different chances:

  • Five-Star Chance: 0.8 percent
  • Four-Star Chance: 6 percent
  • Three-Star Chance: 93.2 percent

These chances are the same for every banner in the game. When you get a four-star on this banner, it could be a resonator or a weapon.

It’s suggested not to spend Astrite on this banner because it stays until you get your five-star.

Beginner’s Choice Convene Banner Guide

This banner in Wuthering Waves is super exciting because it lets you pick the five-star you want.

But, you can only access it after pulling a five-star on the Novice Banner, and then it disappears. Like the Novice Banner, it shares the chances of getting resonators and weapons.

However, here’s the catch: to get a five-star on this banner, you might need to do up to 80 pulls. So, you might have to spend 80 Lustrous Tides before you get your favorite character.

Once you get your first five-star on this banner, it vanishes too. And just like the Novice Banner, it doesn’t share its pity with any other banners in the game.

Event Convene Banners Guide

In Wuthering Waves, there are two types of super exciting banners: Character and Weapon Event Convenes.

The Character banner introduces a new character for a limited time, and you can only get them from this banner during that time. The Weapon banner features a special weapon that’s perfect for the current featured character.

Each Event Convene lasts for about three weeks. Once it’s over, you won’t be able to get the featured five-star items until they come back in another event. So, if you’re a free-to-play (F2P) or a low-spending player, this is where you might want to spend your Astrite.

It might seem tempting to use your Astrite for Waveplate refills, but in the long run, it’s not worth it. It’s better to save up for these special banners where you can get exclusive characters and weapons.

This special Event Convene banner in Wuthering Waves has some unique features. It still works with the chance-based system and has a pity at 80 like other banners. But here’s the twist: when you pull a five-star, there’s a 50 percent chance it’ll be the featured time-limited character. If you miss out on the limited character, you’re guaranteed to get them next time.

Also, the pity between different Event Character and Weapon banners is shared. So, if you don’t get a five-star after, let’s say, 30 pulls on one Character Event Convene, you’ll still be 30 into the pity on the next one.

The four-star system works similarly. There’s a 50 percent chance of getting one of the three featured four stars every time you pull. If you miss out on one, the next four-star is guaranteed to be one of the featured units.

To summon the Character Event Convene, you’ll need Radiant Tides, while the Weapon Event Convene requires Forging Tide. Both of these cost the same, which is 160 Astrite each.

Permanent Convene Banners Guide

In Wuthering Waves, there are also two Permanent Convene banners, which are like the regular banners. One gives you five-star characters, and the other gives you five-star weapons. Both of these use Lustrous Tides.

Both banners have a pity of 80, but there’s a big difference between them. On the Character Permanent Convene, when you get a five-star, it’ll be a random standard character. But on the weapon Convene, you can choose the five-star weapon you want every time.

It’s strongly recommended not to spend your Astrite on these banners because you get Lustrous Tides over time, and these banners never go away.

Gacha Conversion Rate

In Wuthering Waves, every time you get a five-star, four-star, or three-star item, you also earn special currencies. Here’s how it works:

  • For the first seven copies of any five-star character (including the original) and each time you get a five-star weapon, you’ll get 15 Afterglow Corals. This increases to 40 for each copy of a five-star character after the first seven.
  • For the first seven copies of any four-star character and each time you get a four-star weapon, you’ll receive three Afterglow Corals. This goes up to eight when you have more than seven copies of a character.
  • Every time you acquire a three-star weapon through the gacha system, you’ll earn 15 Oscillated Corals.

You can use Afterglow Corals to buy extra summons and character Wavebands for both four and five stars. Oscillated Corals can be used to get six extra summons of each type every month.

It’s recommended to save your Afterglow Corals until you want to go for a specific limited five-star character’s Resonance Chain.
