Once you’ve created your character and explored a bit in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll stumble upon a camp with a Riftstone.

This is where you can Customize Pawn. Your Main Pawn is the one you can send beyond the rift to help other Arisens on their journey.

If you’re not happy with your Pawn’s appearance or inclination after playing with them for a while, you can change everything by paying some Gold.

Another way to customize your Main Pawn is by buying a special book from a merchant and using it at any barber shop.

To Customize your Pawn Appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2, make your way to the Grand Riftstone of Vermund.

You can find it in the Merchant Quarter of Vernworth, the capital of Vermund. Usually, players head there after completing a few Melve Quests. Talk to Officer Gregor, and he’ll guide you to the capital.

Inside the Grand Riftstone, chat with the merchant and buy the Art of Metamorphosis book for 500 RC.

You can use this item once at any barber shop to change your appearance or your Main Pawn’s appearance. There are two copies of the book available at the merchant shop.

Before getting the book, when you talk to the barber shop owner, you’ll only see regular options to change the appearance using Gold in Dragon’s Dogma 2. But after purchasing the Art of Metamorphosis, you’ll unlock an extra option to modify your appearance for free.

The book lets you customize a new Pawn, select a preset Pawn, or modify your current Pawn for free.

Unfortunately, there’s no option to change your Pawn’s name, even if you created one from scratch. Once you’re finished, the book will be used up, and you’ll have your modified or new Main Pawn.

At the Grand Riftstone of Vermund, you can also buy Rift Incense from the same merchant, which lets you adjust your Main Pawn’s inclination in Dragon’s Dogma 2. There are several inclinations available:

  • Ambivalent Rift Incense
  • Kindhearted Rift Incense
  • Calm Rift Incense
  • Simple Rift Incense
  • Straightforward Rift Incense

Each one, except for one, costs 2000 RC, which isn’t exactly cheap. So, be sure of the inclination you want before buying it.

You can collect RC by finding destroyed Riftstones, and your Main Pawn will also bring back RC when they return from beyond the Rift if another Arisen summons them.

Once you have the Rift Incense you want, use it from your menu to change your Main Pawn’s inclination.
