Kindling is an essential skill in Palworld to level up fast. If you want to get coals and ingots, you have to get kindling in Palworld.

Get Kindling in Palworl

To cook something or to use the furnace, you have to get kindling in your base. Only fire-type Pals come with the ability of kindling.

So the easiest and quickest answer of how to get kindling is to capture some fire pals. And use them on your base.

With their fiery touch, you can light campfires for cooking and furnaces for making ingots, which are an essential resource in Palworld. Also, fire-type pals are one of the strongest types in Palworld, so you can use them in fights.

Today, in this article, I will show you how to get kindling in Palworld, the best kindling pals, and where to get them.

How to Get Kindling in Palworld?

To get kindling in Palworld, capture a fire type Pal with the kindling skill, like a Foxparks, and assign them to your base. The Pal will blow fire onto the flames of a campfire, furnace, or cooking pot to speed up production.

Most of the fire-type pals have kindling ability. So for kindling, you need to capture one of them and use them in your base.

But early in the game, you will have a hard time getting a fire-type pal. However, you can get  Foxpark in the early stage, so just go and capture one of them.

Foxpark is a low-level fire-type pal, so you won’t have any problem capturing them. If you just start your game and don’t know where to get it, don’t worry, you don’t need to search for it for a long time.

Head to the ruins near the Plateau of Beginnings fast travel point. Pass by the Expedition Survivor and go to the ruins. There, you’ll see a waterfall where you can find Foxparks and capture them.

But I will suggest you go at night. Because you can easily find them at night, their flaming tails glow brightly, making them easy to spot from hundreds of meters away. Also, you can easily reduce their health while they are sleeping. This will increase your capture rate.

You can also use Foxparks as a powerful fighting partner. Unlock Foxparks’s Harness from the Technology tab and craft it at a Pal Gear Workbench with 3 leather, 5 Flame Organs, and 5 Paldium Fragments. The harness lets you carry Foxparks and use its Partner Skill: enemy-melting fire breath

Where Can You Use Kindling in Palworld?

Aside from the campfire, which you’ll probably build first, there are several other structures that need kindling:

  • Campfire
  • Cooking Pot
  • Primitive Furnace
  • Heater
  • Improved Furnace
  • Electric Furnace

You’ll need to craft these using ingots or other resources, but they aren’t hard to make.

We suggest capturing 2-3 Foxparks early in the game and keeping them at your base to power a Campfire and Furnace. Having an extra Foxparks lets you switch them out at the Palbox occasionally to keep their sanity up.

Best Early Game Pals for Kindling in Palworld

Having a Pal with Level 4 Kindling is awesome, but most players won’t get that until they reach at least level 35-40.

If you’re just starting out, you’ll want a Pal that can do Kindling right away. Here are the best Pals for early in the game:

  • Foxparks: Kindling Lv.1.
  • Arsox (Hatched from a Scorching Egg): Kindling Lv.2.

For most players, Foxparks will be the best choice for early-game Kindling. You can find this Pal near the starting area and the Rayne Syndicate Tower fast travel point. It might be slow, but it will get you through the first 20 hours of the game.

However, if you can get your hands on it, Arsox is a big upgrade for early-game Kindling. Although it usually appears at level 35 on the map, you can hatch it from a Scorching Egg. Look out for a red and yellow egg while exploring, and then hatch it using an Incubator.

How to add kindling to Furnace Palworld?

If you don’t know how to add kindling to the furnace, don’t worry. Now, I will show you how to add kindling to the furnace.

Gather Kindling Material

First, make sure you have a Pal with the Kindling skill. Early in the game, you can use a Pal like Foxparks, which has Level 1 Kindling.

You need to gather firewood or other materials suitable for kindling. You can usually find these materials by exploring forests or chopping down small trees and branches.

Locate the Furnace

Find a furnace in your camp or base. Furnaces are typically used for cooking food, smelting ores, and providing warmth.

Approach the furnace and interact with it (this might be done by pressing a specific button or key, depending on your platform).

Add Kindling

In the furnace menu, you should see an option to add fuel or kindling. Select the firewood or other kindling materials from your inventory.

Drag and drop the kindling materials into the fuel slot of the furnace menu.

Ignite the Furnace

Once the kindling is in place, you may need to ignite the furnace. This is usually done by selecting an “Ignite” or “Start Fire” option in the furnace menu.

If your Pal has the Kindling skill, this process might be more efficient and faster.

Maintain the Fire

Keep an eye on the fire’s duration and intensity. You might need to add more kindling periodically to keep the fire burning, especially if you’re using the furnace for extended periods.

With the fire going, you can now use the furnace for its various functions, such as cooking food, smelting ores, or providing heat for your base.

Upgrade Kindling

As you progress in the game, look for Pals with higher Kindling levels. For instance, Arsox has Level 2 Kindling which can be a major upgrade. You can hatch Arsox from a Scorching Egg, which you’ll find while exploring.

That’s it! Now you know how to add kindling in the furnace. This process ensures you can cook, smelt, and stay warm, making your gameplay smoother and more enjoyable.

What is kindling in Palworld?

In Palworld, Kindling is an important skill that some of your Pals have. Think of Kindling as the ability to gather and prepare firewood, which is super useful for making fires and staying warm. This is a big deal because having a good fire is important for many things you’ll do in the game.

When you start playing Palworld, you’ll notice that having Pals with the Kindling skill makes things easier. Early in the game, you might not have access to high-level Pals, but you can still get by with the ones that have lower levels of Kindling.

For example, Foxparks is a great early-game Pal because it has Level 1 Kindling. You can find Foxparks near the starting area and close to the Rayne Syndicate Tower fast travel point. Even though it’s not the fastest, Foxparks can help you gather and prepare enough firewood to get through the first 20 hours of the game.

As you progress, you might want to upgrade to a Pal with better Kindling skills. One of the best early upgrades is Arsox. Arsox has Level 2 Kindling, which is a step up from Foxparks.

Normally, Arsox spawns at a high level, like 35, which might seem out of reach for new players. But there’s a trick: you can hatch Arsox from a Scorching Egg.

These eggs are red and yellow and can be found while you’re exploring the map. Once you find a Scorching Egg, you can use an Incubator to hatch it and get an Arsox.

Having a Pal with good Kindling skills means you can gather more firewood faster and keep your campfires going without much hassle. This makes a big difference in your gameplay, as you’ll spend less time worrying about basic survival tasks and more time exploring and enjoying other aspects of the game.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Foxparks Not Creating Kindling?

If you exit/reload your game, your problem will be solved. The issues are related to pathing.

I don’t know in your case, but in my case the issue was caused by the furnace and so being inside a house I built (a house with 2 floors to be more precise.

I tried placing all furnaces outside the house making sure there were no other obstacles around, and that fixed it permanently, they will always prioritize kindling over any other task.

Why won’t my kindling pals work?

Kindling will be done automatically, if you have pals with kindling ability in your base, it will automatically assign the work.

But sometimes occur some unusual glitch, and your pals won’t start kindling. In this case, you have to manually assign it’s work.

You can do so by picking up the pal and throw to toward the furnace or cooking pot, where you want to assign it. And it will show you a message “Fixed Assignment to Furnace.”

Why can’t I interact with things that require Kindling?

It’s pretty common. Sometimes, the game just won’t let you get the thing you’re trying to make. This bug happens with anything that needs crafting, not just cooking pots. But it’s an easy fix – just restart the game.
