Are you on the hunt for an Imbued Sword Key in Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree?
If you remember from earlier in Elden Ring, Imbued Sword keys are used to activate portals that transport you to specific locations.
You might recall seeing some of these portals around the Four Belfries in Liurnia. Now, there’s another portal in Shadow Of The Erdtree, and both the Imbued Sword Key and the portal can be found near Castle Ensis.
In this article, I will show you exactly where to find the Imbued Sword Key in Shadow Of The Erdtree, how to use it, and where it will take you within the Land Of Shadow.
How to Get Imbued Sword Key in Shadow of the Erdtree?
To find the Imbued Sword Key in Shadow Of The Erdtree, head to Castle Ensis, the legacy dungeon located across the Ensis Greatbridge, north of where you begin the DLC.
- Starting Point: Begin at the Castle Ensis Checkpoint Site of Grace.
- Cross the Bridge: Go up the nearby stairs and defeat the four guards on the bridge.
- Path to the Key: Follow the path to the right and head up the next set of stairs.
- Face Moonrithyll: Turn left to find an entrance guarded by Carian Knight Moonrithyll. Defeat him.
- Main Altar Room: Enter the main altar room and take the right-hand exit.
- Castle Ramparts: Follow the main path out of the building and along the castle ramparts until you reach some curving wooden stairs around a tower. Be cautious of the spear-wielding soldier guarding the stairs.
- Final Steps: After defeating the spear soldier, go to the top of the stairs and immediately turn left. You’ll find a doorway with a chest inside. Open the chest to get the Imbued Sword Key.
How to Use Imbued Sword Key in Shadow of the Erdtree?
Imbued Sword Keys are used to open portals to different parts of the world. The portal for this key is just beyond Castle Ensis.
This portal is in the next region, Scadu Altus, which you can access after defeating the main boss of Castle Ensis.
If you’re having trouble with the boss, you can take a longer route via the Fort of Reprimand to the east. However, it’s usually easier to just push through Castle Ensis.
Once you reach the Highroad Cross Site of Grace just past Castle Ensis, turn left and follow the river.
When you can, dive into the river and climb the rocks to the tall white stone structure. The portal is at the base of this structure.
To activate the portal, interact with the imp statue next to it. This will use your Imbued Sword Key and transport you to a new area called the Ancient Ruins Of Rauh.
While this area is a small part of the region, it has a tough miniboss similar to a Crucible Knight and contains the Verdigris Discus Talisman, which increases defense with a higher equip load.
