How to Get Both Dragon Forms in Shadow of the Erdtree?

In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Igon’s questline is one of the longest side missions you can undertake.

By completing it, you’ll unlock two Dragon forms and discover some hidden rewards. This quest is connected to Bayle and the Jagged Peaks, and it requires several steps to finish.

There are two different ways to complete Igon’s questline, each offering unique rewards.

Here’s a guide to help you complete Igon’s questline and obtain the Dragon forms in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

How to start Igon’s quest in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

To start Igon’s questline, first, head to the Pillar Path Waypoint Site of Grace. This location is southeast of the Castle Front Site of Grace. When you arrive at Pillar Path, you’ll find Igon moaning in pain.

Speak to Igon, and he’ll tell you about Bayle and his mission to defeat the dragon. Make sure to go through all of his dialogue options. Once you’ve done that, Igon’s questline will officially begin.

How to complete Igon’s questline and unlock both Dragon Forms

Here are the steps you need to complete Igon’s questline in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree:

Step 1: Head to the Dragon’s Pit Dungeon

From the Pillar Path Waypoint Site of Grace, head directly south to the Dragon’s Pit dungeon.
Along the way, you’ll be invaded by Ancient Dragon Man. Defeat him and continue to Dragon’s Pit.
Unlock the Site of Grace at Dragon’s Pit and clear the dungeon. You can ignore the enemies, but it’s advisable to fight them.
Inside, you’ll find two paths: one leading to a Magma Wyrm and the other to an altar room with a hole.

You can fight the Magma Wyrm for a Dragon Heart or head directly to the altar room.

Jump down the hole to face the boss, the true form of Ancient Dragon Man. Defeat him and unlock the Dragon Pit Terminus Site of Grace.

Step 2: Visit the Altar of the Grand Dragon Communion

Exit the dungeon from the Dragon Pit Terminus Site of Grace.
Head forward, jumping down cliffs until you reach a large area with a sleeping drake and dead dragons.
Take the path to the right past some goats until you find the altar with a giant dead dragon.
Talk to the Dragon Priestess in front of the altar and unlock the Site of Grace there.
Exhaust her dialogue to get the option to “Devour Draconic Essence,” which gives you the Ancient Dragon’s Blessing consumable.

Step 3: Find and Talk to Igon

Return to the Dragon Pit Terminus Site of Grace and head to the sleeping drake again.
Take the path to the left, following it carefully to reach a Spiritspring.
Use Torrent to jump up the Spiritspring and cross the bridge to unlock the Foot of the Jagged Peaks Site of Grace.
Head southeast to a large area where two dragons are fighting. Defeat them to get a Dragon Heart and Dragonscale Flesh.
Find Igon moaning in pain. Talk to him to receive his finger, allowing you to summon him against Bayle.

Step 4: Reach the Jagged Peak Mountainside Site of Grace

Continue from where you talked to Igon to find a cave with a Spiritspring at the end.
Use Torrent to jump up the springs and dodge boulders until you reach a boss encounter with Ancient Dragon Senessax (optional).
Either defeat the boss or run past it to find a steep climb. Unlock the Jagged Peak Mountainside Site of Grace at the top.

Step 5: Obtain the Rock Heart

Option A: From a Ghost After Acquiring a Painting

Go to Shadow Keep’s Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace.
Head west through doorways and up stairs to reach a banquet hall.
Exit through the back door to find burning boats and follow the path to a ladder leading to a waterfall.
Take the ladder down to find the “Domain of Dragons” painting.
Return to the Jagged Peak Mountainside Site of Grace and head west, then up a mountain to a Spiritspring.
Jump down from the pillar to find a ghost in a chair. Exchange the painting for a Rock Heart.

Option B: Defeat Bayle the Dread

From the Spiritspring, head up the left path to another Spiritspring.
Follow the path to find a final spring boosting you to the boss area.
Defeat Bayle, using Igon’s summon for help. Obtain the Heart of Bayle and use it at the Altar of the Grand Dragon Communion to exchange for either Bayle’s Flame Lightning or Bayle’s Tyranny.

Step 6: Pick up the Priestess Heart

After defeating Bayle, return to the Dragon Priestess and exhaust her dialogue.
Receive the Priestess Heart and the Flowerstone Gavel weapon.
If you didn’t talk to the Priestess before killing Bayle, find the Priestess Heart and the Flowerstone Gavel as a drop at the Altar of the Grand Dragon Communion.

Step 7: Complete Igon’s Questline

Return to where you found Igon after defeating the two drakes.
You’ll find Igon dead. Loot his corpse to get his Bell Bearing, armor set, and Igon’s Greatbow.

How to become a Dragon in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

To transform into a Dragon in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, you’ll need to use the hearts you’ve collected. Keep in mind that you must remove all your armor before transforming. Use the Priestess Heart to become a female dragon or the Rock Heart to become a male dragon.
