Do you want to know How to Get Iris of Occultation in Shadow of the Erdtree?

The Iris of Occultation is one of the two important Iris items in Shadow of the Erdtree. The other, Iris of Grace, is a bit rarer.

You can use the Iris of Occultation in a few NPC quests to earn valuable rewards, but first, you need to find one.

In this article, I will show you How to Get Iris of Occultation in Shadow of the Erdtree and how to use them.

How to Get Iris of Occultation in Shadow of the Erdtree?

There are three places where you can find an Iris of Occultation in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree:

  1. Dropped by the Omenkiller below the Fort of Reprimand.
  2. Dropped by the Ulcerated Tree Spirit in Shadow Keep, Church District.
  3. At the statue of Marika in the Tree-Worship Passage below Shadow Keep.

Here’s a detailed guide to help you locate them:

#1: Fort of Reprimand

The first Iris of Occultation you’ll likely encounter is inside the Fort of Reprimand.

To find it:

  • Enter the Fort of Reprimand through the front entrance.
  • Drop down the hatch in the floor next to the left-hand wall.
  • Drop into the sewer and defeat the Omenkiller.
  • Loot the Omenkiller’s body to get the Iris of Occultation.

#2: Church District

The second Iris of Occultation is in the Church District of Shadow Keep.

To get there:

  • Enter the Church District from the eastern side of Scadu Altus.
  • Cross the rooftops to the southwest wall and turn the wheel to lower the water level.
  • Drop to the ground of the Church District and fight the northern Ulcerated Tree Spirit near the Sunken Chapel Site of Grace.
  • Defeat the Ulcerated Tree Spirit to obtain the Iris of Occultation.

#3: Tree-Worship Passage

The third Iris of Occultation is in the Tree-Worship Passage below Shadow Keep.

Here’s how to find it:

  • Access the Tree-Worship Passage from the Church District after lowering the water level.
  • Drop down into the chapel floor with the Burning Putrid Corpses.
  • Head to the far end of the chapel where two staircases go left and right around a doorway.
  • Open the door, take the elevator down, and follow the path until you reach a large statue of Marika across a bridge.
  • Loot the base of the statue to find the final Iris of Occultation.

These locations are marked on the map below to help you find them more easily.

How to Use Iris of Occultation in Shadow of the Erdtree?

Just like the Iris of Grace, you can use the Iris of Occultation in three different ways:

  1. Fire Knight Queelign: Head to the Prayer Room in the Church District of Shadow Keep and use the Iris of Occultation on Fire Knight Queelign.
  2. Jolán at the end of Ymir’s questline: You’ll find Jolán in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr. Use the Iris of Occultation on him after completing Ymir’s questline.
  3. Activate your equipped Great Rune: Alternatively, you can use the Iris of Occultation directly from your inventory to activate your equipped Great Rune. However, we don’t recommend this option because it will consume the Iris of Occultation entirely. Unlike the Iris of Grace, you can find up to three Iris of Occultation items in the game, but they are still limited. It’s wise to use the Iris of Occultation for the first two purposes before considering this option.

Rewards:

  • Fire Knight Queelign:
    • Iris of Grace: Fire Knight Queelign Spirit Ash
    • Iris of Occultation: Queelign’s Greatsword
  • Swordhand of Night Jolán:
    • Iris of Grace: Swordhand of Night Jolán Spirit Ash
    • Iris of Occultation: Sword of Night

Basically, using the Iris of Occultation will grant you the character’s weapon, while using the Iris of Grace will grant you their Spirit Ash. Choose the reward that best fits your gameplay style and objectives in Elden Ring!
